Dining & Celebrations
Visitors are welcome to join Residents for a meal. If you choose to eat at Southlake Village, please purchase a meal ticket at reception. Please call ahead of time if a group of visitors will be joining for a meal, so that we can make necessary arrangements with the kitchen.
Celebrations
Our indoor spaces are use by Residents and families for various types of celebrations. These spaces are booked for use through reception and is used for:
- Breakfast Clubs
- Family Dinners
- Birthday Parties
- Meeting Space
- Family celebrations
Our Auditorium may be rented out to external groups based on availability. External parties can obtain availability by contacting reception.
Courtyard
At Southlake Residential Care Village we use every opportunity to utilize the outdoors. The following events occur in the courtyard, weather permitting:
- Friendly Visits
- Resident BBQ’s
- Family & Resident BBQ’s
- Programs–Trivia, Games, Food Socials
- Walking Programs
- Gardening Programs
- Herb Garden Programs
- Concert
Dining Room
Because dining room seating is limited to accommodate our Residents, visitors are asked to join Residents for a meal either in the celebration dining room, the main floor cafe, or our activity rooms.
Diet and Nutrition
Good nutrition and attractive tasty meals are an essential part of our service. The Home has a three-week seasonal menu plan. Nutritional goals are achieved through our Director of Food Services and staff, with the recommendations from the Consulting Dietitian, the Resident’s Food Committee and you. Three meals a day plus three nutritious snacks are provided for the Resident.
Special and therapeutic diets are prepared in accordance with doctor’s orders and assessment by the dietitian is provided if the need arises. Feeding devices are also available for Residents, as the need is indicated (e.g. rimmed plates, special cups, built up utensils). Meal service is provided in the dining rooms, but if a Resident is ill, meals may be provided in his/her room.
